SubKeep
Summary: SubKeep is designed for privacy. We do not collect personal data, do not use analytics or advertising SDKs, and do not require an account. Your subscription data is stored on your device by default.
Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how SubKeep (“the App”) handles information. SubKeep is a subscription management application for iOS, iPadOS, and watchOS published under the product name SubKeep.
Information We Do Not Collect
SubKeep does not:
- Require you to create an account or sign in
- Connect to your bank or financial institutions
- Display advertisements
- Integrate third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs
- Sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties
- Track you across apps or websites
Data Stored on Your Device
By default, all subscription data you enter — including names, prices, billing cycles, categories, and renewal dates — is stored locally on your device. This data remains under your control and is not transmitted to SubKeep or any server operated by SubKeep.
The App may also store app preferences (such as currency, notification settings, and appearance) locally using standard iOS storage mechanisms.
Widget and Apple Watch
SubKeep provides home screen widgets and Apple Watch complications. These extensions read subscription data from a shared App Group container on your device to display renewals and spending summaries. This data sharing occurs entirely on your device and is not sent to external servers.
Notifications
Renewal reminders are scheduled locally on your device using iOS local notifications. No notification data is sent to external servers.
Network Services (Optional)
SubKeep works fully offline for core features. The following optional features may use network connectivity:
- Currency conversion: When auto-convert is enabled, the App fetches exchange rates from frankfurter.app. Only the requested currency codes are sent; no personal or subscription data is included in these requests.
- Speech input: When you use voice input to add subscriptions, speech recognition may be processed on-device when available, or by Apple’s speech recognition services. SubKeep does not store or transmit audio recordings.
Export and Import
You can export your data as JSON or CSV files and import data from files you choose. Export files are saved to locations you select. SubKeep does not upload exported files to any server.
Permissions
SubKeep may request the following device permissions:
- Notifications: To deliver renewal reminders you configure
- Microphone & Speech Recognition: Only when you choose voice input to add subscription details
- Calendar: Only when you enable calendar sync in Settings → Data
- Photos: Only when you choose receipt scan to import subscription details
You can revoke these permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
Children’s Privacy
SubKeep is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Data Retention and Deletion
Your data remains on your device until you delete it within the App or uninstall the App. Uninstalling SubKeep removes locally stored data.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted in the App and on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
