Privacy Policy

Overview

NestProof Vault is a paid, offline-first private digital vault for documents, warranties, IDs, and household assets on iPhone and iPad. Privacy is built into the product: no account, no ads, no analytics SDKs, and no NestProof-operated cloud service for your content.

Data We Do Not Collect

We do not collect personal data on NestProof servers. The App Store privacy label for NestProof Vault is Data Not Collected.

• No account registration or login
• No analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking SDKs
• No NestProof server receives your documents, photos, OCR text, inventory details, or settings

Data Stored on Your Device

Content you add — documents, photos, inventory items, notes, OCR text, and app settings — is stored locally on your device by default. You control exports, sharing, and optional backups.

Permissions

• Camera / Photo Library — scan or import documents and item photos
• Face ID / Touch ID — optional app lock handled by iOS
• Notifications — optional local warranty and maintenance reminders you enable
• iCloud Drive — only when you choose to save an encrypted backup

Optional iCloud Backup

If you create an encrypted backup, NestProof encrypts the archive on your device with a password you choose. The encrypted file may be saved to your iCloud Drive. NestProof never receives your password and cannot read the backup contents.

Optional Third-Party Lookups

Some optional features send queries directly from your device to public third-party services. NestProof does not operate these services and does not receive or store these queries.

• U.S. CPSC recall check — product name may be sent to the U.S. CPSC SaferProducts.gov public API
• Barcode product lookup — barcode digits may be sent to the Open Product Data public API to suggest a product name

You can use NestProof Vault without these optional features.

On-Device Processing

OCR, document classification, and search indexing run on your device. On supported devices, Apple Intelligence may refine suggestions locally. Document content is not sent to NestProof or third-party AI services for processing.

Widgets & Spotlight

Home-screen widgets and Spotlight search use on-device indexes or App Group snapshots shared between the app and its widget extension. They do not send your content to NestProof servers.

Children

NestProof Vault is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
